Please note that all articles on this site are pre 2006. However they are too good to lose and contain much information of value to wine lovers, wine collectors and the wine industry in general. Just bear in mind when you are reading them that they may have been superseded by new information elsewhere. Winepros houses approximately 15,000 wine articles and wine reviews by Mr James Halliday, from 1991 to 2006. These cover all major Australian wine regions, and a number of international regions, and reviews of most major Australian wines. However please note that he is no longer contributing to Winepros.

 | Brookland Valley
Location: Australia - Western Australia - Margaret River Brookland Valley has an idyllic setting, with its much enlarged Flutes Cafe one of the best winery restaurants in the Margaret River region. In 1997 BRL Hardy acquired a 50 per cent interest in the venture and took responsibility for viticulture and winemaking. The move towards richer and more complex red wines evident before the takeover has continued; the white wines have an extra degree of finesse and elegance.
Palandri Wines
Location: Australia - Western Australia - Margaret River Palandri Wines is the third largest producer in Western Australia and owner of the state's largest vineyard located at Frankland River.
They have crafted three ranges of premium Australian wines to complement every lifestyle. From casual and relaxed to formal, thier wines suit a wide variety of occasions. The wines represent exceptional value for money and are distinct in their presentation, flavour profiles and retail price points.
These wines can be tasted at the Palandri Wines Visitor centre at Cowaramup, which adjoins the winery. The cellar door is one of the most innovative in Australia with a large area set aside for visitors to tatse the entire range. Locally made clothing, produce, and wine accessories are also available at the cellar door.
Complementing the cellar door is the Palandri Wine Cafe, offering mouthwatering cafe style food paired with Palandri wines. Red and white wine platters are available and all other food items on the menu have wines recommended for them. Visitors are encouraged to experiment with food and wine matching.
Vasse Felix
Location: Australia - Western Australia - Margaret River In 1999 the production of Vasse Felix wines moved to a new 2000-tonne winery; the old winery is dedicated entirely to the restaurant and tasting rooms. A relatively new 140-hectare vineyard at Jindong in the north of the Margaret River supplies a large part of the increased fruit intake. National Australian distribution; exports to the UK, US, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, FranceSingapore, New Zealand, Indonesia, Fiji, Hong Kong and Japan.
Voyager Estate
Location: Australia - Western Australia - Margaret River Voyager Estate has come a long way since it was acquired by Michael Wright (of the mining family) in May 1991. It now has an important, high quality 63-hectare vineyard which puts Voyager Estate in the position of being able to select only the best parcels of fruit for its own label, and to supply surplus (but high quality) wine to others. The Cape Dutch-style tasting room and vast rose garden are a major tourist attraction, although the winery itself remains in strictly utilitarian form.
