Wine background
Although simply labelled Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine usually contains a dash of Merlot and/or Cabernet Franc. Usually two-thirds come from Coonawarra and one-third from McLaren Vale; the wine is aged in American oak puncheons for over two years before bottling. The 1989 won two gold, six silver and 20 bronze medals in Australian shows; the '90, too, has enjoyed considerable show success. | |
| James Halliday Feb 01 2006 Rating: 90 out of 100 | Elegant, light to medium-bodied wine with cedar, blackcurrant, spice and earth; nicely ripened, fine tannins. Cork. |
